Message First My Original Post

Well, I've been using this now for a a little over a month now .. datalogging and reviewing log files and such for kicks. Recently, I had an issue with minor surging when cruising and it turns out that my TPS was all over the place. So I replaced it and issue seems to be gone. Anyway, figured I'd finally post some small pics of what I did. Click on the original link above for PC specs and such.

Items:

mini pc

power inverter with fuse

universal cigarette lighter socket plug with inline fuse ( this is similar to what I used )

and I am primarily using this PC to run Conzult software purchased from Z1 (highly recommended for all Z owners)

I mounted the conzult cable behind all the OEM paneling and ran a USB extension from the conzult cable behind the stereo area. I wanted to see the led lights on the conzult box for diagnostics ( active / on ~ green / red ) - so I mounted with velcro under the steering column area.

and to the pics

First I ran the cigarette lighter socket adapter with in line fuse from the battery through the area behind the passenger inner fender well. Here is an old pic of the area that I am speaking of.

Then I mounted the adapter above the foot area on the passenger side

hooking a regular extension cord to the inverter

using velcro to secure the inverter in the passenger foot area

routing the extension cord on the floor panel area

I ran the extension cord under the carpet and door rail the rear behind the passenger seat. I used some spiral wrap on the extension cord to “clean’ it up a little.

I need to tidy this up a bit. What you see mounted in the rear is a slim DVD/CD player.

I have been experimenting with mounting locations / equipment and this seems to be working fine so far. There are two screws at the mounting base where I can disconnect the flex tube if and when I so choose.

( pic of tube from ram mount website )

here are a few pics with the mini pc in use:

internet access on the road !! tt.net home page and AIM

conzult software loading

using the zoom feature on the mini pc (sorry a little blurry )

Z on

and some pics of the final install / usage

Basically, nothing fancy ..nothing special .. not DVD Burn material but it serves my purpose for right now. I plan on tidying up all the wiring once I determine my final installation preferences. The beauty of this is that I can remove everything really quickly when not in use.
